AI-generated does not always mean AI slop
A polished AI illustration may be clearly AI-generated without showing many slop signals. A human-made image may also look inconsistent or low quality. Origin and visual quality are different questions.
Visual signal checker
AI slop is a common term for low-quality, generic, incoherent, or weakly controlled content made with generative AI. It is a description of visible results—not a precise technical category.

Look for unstable anatomy or geometry, malformed text, repetitive details, weak object relationships, and textures or boundaries that do not hold together. These signals are clues, not proof.
AI Probability estimates likely AI origin. Slop Score summarizes visible coherence and quality signals. One score does not automatically raise or lower the other.
Compression, editing, screenshots, metadata removal, small images, and newer generation methods can change the evidence available to a detector.
