AI Slop Detector FAQ
What is AI slop?
AI slop is a common term for low-quality, generic, incoherent, or weakly controlled content made with generative AI. It is not a precise technical category.
Can you detect AI-generated images?
The tool estimates whether an image is likely AI-generated. The result is probabilistic and can be affected by editing, compression, screenshots, metadata removal, image size, and newer generation methods.
What is the difference between AI Probability and Slop Score?
AI Probability estimates likely AI origin. Slop Score summarizes visible quality and coherence signals. They are independent: an image can be likely AI-generated without looking like slop.
Is the AI Slop Score accurate?
It is an estimate, not a certified measurement. The score reflects visible signals in the submitted image, and ambiguous or low-quality inputs can reduce confidence.
Is all AI art AI slop?
No. AI-generated work can be coherent and intentional. A separate Slop Score helps avoid treating AI origin as a quality judgment.
Can screenshots be detected?
Screenshots can still be analyzed, but resizing, compression, and missing metadata may reduce the evidence available and lower confidence.
Can edited AI images still be detected?
Possibly. Editing, cropping, filters, and re-saving can change visible signals, so results remain estimates rather than proof.
Are uploaded images stored?
Images are not intended to be permanently stored by default. They are processed to provide the requested result; see the Privacy page for actual processing and deletion details.
Do I need an account?
No account is required for the MVP. The service allows up to three completed scans per device per day.
